Quarry Eviction 26th August 2014

For the last few months I and three other people have been living in the old shooting range quarry in Leigh Woods on the outskirts of Bristol. Last Tuesday we were evicted with no notice by a convoy of police and bailiffs.

Really good show on at the Arnolfini until November

"The Promise - A dialogue between the city and its people" will be at the Arnolfini until 9 November 2014. It's a must-see for Bristolians, people interested in how a city is shaped and anyone who loves intricate wooden models of streets.

Hippy Crack

This summer it seems you can't throw a stone in Bristol without hitting someone doing nos from a balloon. Yesterday I noticed two groups at it in Castle Park - at lunchtime on a weekday. Hey - the stuff was almost invented in Bristol so I guess it's kind of traditional.

Gaza Demo at the BBC Whiteladies Road

For about a week people have been camping outside the BBC building on Whiteladies Road, Bristol protesting about a perceived bias in coverage of the current conflict in the Gaza Strip and Israel. Today they're in court with the BBC trying to evict the protestors.
